Roma Downey says she is delighted to be getting Hollywood Walk of Fame star
TOUCHED By An Angel actress Roma Downey is to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
The 55-year-old star said she was very excited by the news.
Roma – who hails from Beechwood Avenue in Derry city – Roma is to be honoured for her accomplishments in television.
Taking to Twitter after hearing the news, Roma wrote: “Thank you to all my friends and fans for the well wishes… excited and grateful! All Glory to God.”
She is to receive her star on the famous Los Angeles boulevard alongside Bradley Cooper, Quentin Tarantino, and Michael Keaton, next year.
Roma, who is based in Malibu, earned one nomination and one win at the TV Guide awards for favourite actress and also garnered two Emmy Award nominations and two Golden Globe nominations.
The stars on the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame include Marilyn Monroe, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Errol Flynn.
Roma is regarded as the North’s second richest woman.
