Two former Derry City players have been selected to play for the Republic of Ireland tomorrow night in the crucial World Cup Qualifier against Sweden at the Aviva stadium.
The former Candystripes stars James McClean and David Forde have both been named in Giovanni Trapattoni’s starting XI against the Swedish tomorrow night.
Forde is now first choice keeper following the retirement of former Donegal stopper Shay Given and has enjoyed some fine performances since taking over the No 1 jersey.
McClean has recently transferred to Championship outfit Wigan Athletic after falling out of favour with Sunderland’s Italian manager Paolo Di Canio.
However Ireland’s Italian manager Trapattoni is a huge McClean fan and sees him as a crucial component in his side as he looks to get 3 crucial points tomorrow night.
