The incident took place in the Tobermore Road area of Maghera at around 8.45pm on Wednesday last. The victims, who suffered injuries to their wrists, were treated for shock at the scene.

A number of men, one thought to be armed with a handgun and a knife, entered the house  and tied up the 47-year-old male occupant. A second 51-year-old male, who arrived at the house a short time later, was also tied up.
The gang, who took a sum of money from a safe and personal items including laptops and watches, made off in the occupants’  black Mercedes car which was discovered this morning in Brough Road, Castledawson.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the car in the Maghera/Castledawson area last night or who has information about the robbery. The number to ring is 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information may be passed on anonymously via the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
