The drug supply chain in the North West took another blow yesterday when cannabis worth nearly €150,000 was seized by Gardai in Donegal.
The seizures came after a man and woman were arrested in Sligo the previous night for being in posession of €80,000 worth of the drug.
Two hundred cannabis plants, with an estimated value of €120,000, were seized at two growhouses in Leiter, Kilmacrennan while €24,000 worth of cannabis herb was seized in a housing estate outside Milford.
Both seizures in Donegal and Sligo are believed to be part of a nationwide crackdown on drugs gangs using rural counties to grow cannabis.
