The Magee campus of the Open University of Ulster will hold an Open Day this weekend for prospective students.
The day is one of a number of “Open Days” being held at University of Ulster campuses.
A spokesperson for Magee said Open Days were a “great way” to learn more about the college’s courses and see what it has to offer.
The spokesperson added: “You’ll have the opportunity to meet lecturers and students, attend course-specific talks and take a tour of our facilities. This is one of the best ways to get a ‘feel’ for where you will be studying. We encourage all prospective students to come along and join us.
Choosing the right university and course is a major decision – after all, it’s the place where you will study and perhaps live for the next three years or more. There really is no substitute for visiting a campus and visualising yourself studying, living and socialising there!
“Open Days are a great opportunity for you to visit the university’s campuses, talk to lecturers about the course/s you are interested in studying – and perhaps learn about subjects you hadn’t previously considered, as well as chatting to our current students about student life at Ulster – the studies and the craic!. You will also see, first-hand, the many facilities, such as, our library, accommodation, state-of-the-art sports centre and Students’ Union.”
Student Finance, Students’ Union and Student Support Services (Disability, Accommodation, etc) will be on hand to offer advice and support each day.
The spokesperson added: “Along with exhibits, we have organised a full schedule of subject talks and tours at each campus which will help you get a real flavour of life at Ulster.”
Open Days will be held at Jordanstown tomorrow from 9.30 am to 3.00pm, tomorrow from 9.30am to 3.00 and 6.00pm to 8.00pm, and Thursday from 9.30am to 3.00pm and Wednesday from 9.30am to 3.00pm.
The Open Day at Magee will take place this Saturday from 9.30am to 3.00pm.
