Darron Gibons is expected to make his first appearance of the season for Everton in tonight’s Capital One Cup clash with Fulham.
The Derry man has not featured in new boss Robert Martinez’s squad since the Spaniard succeeded David Moyes at Goodison Park because of a knee injury.
However, the former Manchster United midfielder who last week ended his self-imposed exile from the Republic of Ireland international squad following the departure of Giovanni Trapattoni, was declared fit by Martinez at a press conference held yesterday ahead of tonight’s clash at Craven Cottage.
Martinez indicated he was likely to make changes to his team as he manages the workload of three matches within the space of nine days.
He said: “I consider Darron Gibson fully fit. He has been working extremely well and he has joined the group, so that’s a great positive for us.”
