The family of a man seriously injured in the Galliagh area at the weekend have made an impassioned plea for information about the incident.
According the man’s family, he sustained the injury at a house in the Bracken Park area on Friday night last. They have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
The man’s daughter described what had happened to her father as “disgusting.”
She added: “If anyone knows anything let one of us know please.”
A PSNI spokesperson said police were in close contact with the man’s family and also appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
The spokesperson added: “At this stage it has not been established how he came to be injured and no report of a crime has been made. However, police are investigating the circumstances and detectives from Strand Road are appealing for information in relation to the matter.
