The man had been detained in Co Antrim by detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime Branch and questioned at Antrim Serious Crime Suite.

General Election counting in the Foyle and East Derry constituencies was suspended for 90 minutes in May 2010 after a pipe bomb was left outside the count centre at Templemore Sports Complex which had to be evacuated only minutes before a declaration.

A number of residents living nearby, including elderly people in sheltered accommodation, were also evacuated from their homes.

The count resumed shortly after 12.00 night after a British army bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion.

At the time, dissident republicans were blamed for the attack which was widely condemned.
