The All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil, held in Derry last month, has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.
The week-long event, which attracted over 400,000 people, has been nominated in the Festival Awards for Best Small Festival and Best Metropolitan Festival. If successful, the Fleadh could go through to the European Festival Awards.
Mayor of Derry, Cllr Martin Reilly said he was delighted the Derry Fleadh – the biggest ever held – had been nominated.
The awards are decided by members of the public and Cllr Reilly encouraged people to vote, stating it was an “unique opportunity” for the public to get involved.
Mayor Reilly said: “The Fleadh Cheoil was a superb event for the city and one of the main highlights of the City of Culture year. The event showcased everything that is good about our city with record numbers of people coming to the city to participate and be part of the celebrations.”
He added: “I am delighted the Fleadh and its organisers and support agencies have been acknowledged in this way and hope they are successful in going through to the European awards.”
Public voting gets under way at 5.00pm today (October 1) and runs throughout the month.

Everyone who votes will be automatically entered into a draw to win two tickets to all the shortlisted festivals.
Mayor Reilly said: “So get voting and encourage your family and friends to do so also.”
