A dedicated helpline to help the recently announced child sexual exploitation investigation has been set up by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).
The investigation was announced by Health Minister Edwin Poots after it was revealed a number of vulnerable children were being used for sexual exploitation.
Anyone seeking advice, information or who may have concerns about a child at risk of sexual exploitation and abuse is being asked by the charity to call the helpline.
NSPCC staff are available to provide 24 hour advice and support to callers so that protective action can be taken to safeguard children and young people.
Callers to the helpline can remain anonymous.
The NSPCC warned Northern IrelandW not immune to the type of sexual exploitation of children such as that so widely reported in connection with recent court cases in Rochdale and Oxford.
Further information is available to parents and carers on how to help keep children safe from exploitation on the charity’s website: http://www.nspcc.org.uk.
