Lessons in the Mandarin Chinese language and culture are to be taught at two Derry schools.
Under a new programme in association with the Confucius Institute, St Columb’s College on Buncrana Road and Lumen Christi in Bishop Street will join the first group of eight Confucius Classroom Hubs bringing Chinese language and culture to young people across Northern Ireland.
The classroom hubs will also work in partnership with a network of 111 other schools across Northern Ireland to enable every pupil to have access to support for learning the Chinese language and culture.
