Homeowners in Derry are being advised to ensure their homes are secured at all times after the attempted burglary of a house in the city at the weekend.
According to a PSNI spokesperson, keys were taken from a house in the Park Avenue area of Rosemount sometime between 3.30pm and 5.45pm on Saturday.
The culprits then returned around 1.50am the following morning but fled empty handed after being disturbed by the homeowner.
The police spokesperson said anyone with information about both incidents is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000 or a member of their local Neighbourhood Team directly – details can be found on the PSNI website.
Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
