The announcement that an additional investment of £3.7 million is to be made in domiciliary care has been welcomed by Derry MLA Maeve McLaughlin.
The Sinn Fein representative, chairperson of the Health Committee in the Assembly, said she hoped the announcement was the first of a number of moves to strengthen investment in domiciliary care.
Ms McLaughlin said: “This is a welcome announcement and something I called upon just a week ago. However, I would reiterate my call for a review of domiciliary care in light of concerns around 15-minute care packages.
“How domiciliary care is calculated for each area should be made public and of course needs to be adequate.”
