BREAKING NEWS: British paratroopers behind the murders of 14 people in Derry on Bloody Sunday are to be arrested on suspicion of murder, a newspaper tomorrow will claim.
The British Sunday Times, taking a pro-paratrooper stance, is expressing the outrage of the British military and political establishment at the move.
However the paper says arrests will take place. And some of the soldiers responsible for the slaughter could be charged with murder.
The PSNI says it began a new inquiry 15 months ago in the wake of the Saville Inquiry.
But 12 officers only really began the investigation properly earlier this year after resources were given to the team by PSNI boss Matt Baggott. Derry Daily understands that 20 retired British soldiers will be arrested in the next few weeks and questioned about the murders.
