THE brother of one of the 14 people fatally wounded on Bloody Sunday has said killer soldiers must do jail time if they are found guilty of murder.
John Kelly’s brother Michael was one of four people shot dead by soldier F during the January 1972 slaughter.
Mr Kelly told RTE’s Morning Ireland programme today that the age of soldier F should not get in the way of any prison sentence.
“This should not be a factor in it at all,” said Mr Kelly.
“I’m in my 60s and I can see no reason whatsoever why someone who carried out these murders should not face the full rigours of the law. Murder is murder.
“Lots of people from all sides have gone to prison here over many years for various reasons and the idea of immunity for British soldiers is abhorrent.”
