A 48-yeard-old man was injured when he was attacked by masked men wielding batons in Strabane late last night.
Detectives in the town are appealing for information about the assault which occurred at around 11.30pm.
A PSNI spokesperson said two masked men, carrying what was believed to be long thin batons, entered a house in the Springhill Park area before attacking the man.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
Detectives want anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them at Strabane on 0845 600 8000.
