Mayor of Derry Cllr Martin Reilly congratulates multi-medal winner Fidelma Hodkinson who was victorious at the World Transplant Games in Durban, South Africa.
Representing Great Britain she won three medals in total.
Fidelma, a native from Derry, brought home the double gold medal in cycling for competitive time trials and road race categories and was awarded a bronze in the running category.
Fidelma had received a bone marrow transplant from her sister after being diagnosed with Leukemia in 2002.
One of the criteria for all entrants to the Transplant Games is for all competitors to have recovered from life saving organ transplant surgery.
Currently transplant athletes from Britain and Northern Ireland hold over 50 Transplant World Records between them.
Fidelma works tirelessly to promote organ donation and raise funds for Transport Sport, to find out more information or how to get involved visit www.transplantsport.org.uk
