In a change to the advertised programme, the Banks of the Foyle Halloween organisers haves announced that the Tall Ship due to travel to the city this week to host the Ghostly Galleons children’s activity will no longer be arriving at the Foyle Marina.
Due to inclement weather conditions, the ship is unable to make its journey across the Irish Sea.
However, the organizers are keen to ensure that children will not miss out and the activities, animation and tales of the Fishwives and Merman are now set to take place on dry land, inside the Guildhall’s Whittaker suite.
Terence O Kane, Banks of the Foyle Halloween Carnival organizer said: “For reasons that are outside our control, namely the winter storm that we are experiencing, we regretfully have had to make a change to Tall Ship event already advertised in the Banks of the Foyle programme.
“We are delighted to say that due to a little reorganization we can now offer the range of ghostly events for free in the Guildhall on both Wednesday and Thursday at the same times as those previously advertised. Come along for some family fun to the storytelling events which are suitable for all ages.”
The performance times for both dates – this Wednesday and Thursday – are: The Fishwives Tale (11.00am – 1.00pm) and The Merman’s Tale (2.00pm – 4.00pm). Each show lasts approximately 15 minutes and children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be no admission fee for these events.
