Police in Derry have said someone could have been killed after a vehicle had a front brake pipe cut in the Waterside area of the city.
A police spokesperson said the front copper pipe on a Land Rover Freeloader was severed when it was parked in the Stevensons Park area between Tuesday and 1.oopm yesterday.
Appealing for information about the incident, a police spokesperson said such action could have led to someone being killed.
The spokesperson said: “As well as this being a criminal act, police would also warn anyone that this kind of act is extremely dangerous and could result in someone being seriously injured, or worse.”
The spokesperson asked anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
The spokespeson added if someone preferred to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
