Ireland’s biggest bookmaker has cast doubt on Derry having a white Christmas.
Fresh out of the Halloween period, Paddy Power has said it looks unlikely that it will snow across the North West on 25 December.
Paddy has put odds of 7/2 on the white stuff falling in Derry on Christmas Day.
Ireland’s biggest bookmaker believes Donegal has a less chance of having a White Christmas with odds of 11/2.
Paddy Power said he was conscious of the fact that amateur weatherman Michael Gallagher lived in Donegal.
Nonetheless he is quoting odds of 11/2 on the white stuff falling in Donegal on Christmas Day.
The spokesman said: “As the home of the world’s most famous weather tipster, Michael Gallagher, it’s safe to say that the Donegal public have a bigger edge on the bookies than most. However, we’re famed for putting our money where our mouth is and are putting our necks on the line at 11/2.”
