Derry City are on course to play in next season’s Europa League as Sligo Rovers have taken a late lead against Drogheda United in the FAI Cup final.
Two goals in five minutes from substitute Danny North have Ian Barrclough’s side in the lead with eight minutes of injury time to play. It was the striker’s first ever goals in the competition.
Drogheda had taken a surprise lead in the 13th minute through Paul O’Connor. It was the first goal Sligo have conceded in this season’s FAI Cup.
Derry, who finished fourth in the Airtricity Premiership, need Sligo to win to play in next season’s Europa League.
