Derry champions Ballinderry Shamrocks are the overwhelming favourites ahead of this afternoon’s Ulster Senior Club Championship quarter-final clash with Scotstown from Monaghan in Clones.
The Shamrocks will include no fewer than five under-21 players.
Ryan Bell, Aaron Devlin, Daniel McKinless, Darren Lawn and Gareth McKinless form the youthful heartbeat of a Ballinderry side that has won the last three Derry titles.
However, Ballinderry will still be packed with experience with the likes of Kevin McGuckin, Conleith Gilligan, Michael Conlan, Enda Muldoon and James Conway were in the all-conquering Shamrocks side who captured the All Ireland club title in 2002 under the capable baton of Brian McIver, whose son Michael is now in the side.
Scotstown stunned Clontibret in the Monaghan senior championship final last month to end a 20-year title famine.
The Monaghan champions will be looking to Kieran Hughes for scores with his brother Darren providing an attacking backup from midfield.
Goalkeeper Rory Beggan is also capable of putting the ball over the bar from long-range frees.
