Improvement works at Blucher Street in Derry which will include road safety measures have got under way in Blucher Street.
The works will include the provision of a new footpath, road safety bollards between Blucher Street and Lisfannon Park and other repair work.
The improvements have been welcomed Sinn Féin Councillor Colly Kelly who said they “long awaited” and “much needed.”
Cllr Kelly said ” I have been working with DRD Road Service for over year now to ensure that this scheme took place on one of the busiest streets in the area .It will involve a new footpath along Blucher Street, new road safety bollards between Blucher Street and Lisfannon Park and other repair work that is needed. There will be level of disruption whilst this work takes place and I would urge any resident who may have concerns about this to contact me.
