Former Derry City winger Niall McGinn put his injury worries behind him to score twice in Aberdeen’s 4-0 win over Partick Thistle in tonight’s Scottish Premiership tie.
Northern Ireland international fired home a free kick in the 24th minute after Jonny Hayes was brought down by Isaac Osbourne.
Following goals from Zola (40) and (Hector) the Co Tyrone man struck again in the 87th minute slotting home with his right foot to complete the rout.
The win moves Aberdeen into second place in the Scottish Premiership behind Glasgow Celtic.
Stephen Kenny signed McGinn from Dungannon Swifts in January 2008 and following impressive performances he was snapped by Celtic in January 2009.
In July 2011, he went south of the border on loan to Brentford before returning to Aberdeen on a two year contract. He signed a two year extension in May this year which will see him stay at the club until 2016.
His tally of 21 goals, 2o of which came in the league, saw him voted Aberdeen Player of the Year and Players Player of the Year for the 2012-13 season.
When came on as a substitute against Hungary in November 2008, he became the first player to gain a full Northern Ireland international cap in 19 years.
