The second in a series of special events celebrating Creggan’s heritage using film, photographs and interviews will to take place at the Hive Studios at the Rath Mor Centre at 7.00pm this Thursday.
Speakers at the “Neighbourhood Memories” event will include teacher Kathleen Doherty, photographer Billy Houston and historian Mickey McGuinness.
The evening will be introduced and moderated by college lecturer Raymond Craig.
The showcase has been organised by Guildhall Press (Derry) as part of their development of the Portrait of a City film and photographic archive, in association with the Big Lottery Culture for All programme.
The event is taking place before a live audience at the Rath Mor but will also be broadcast live online, thanks to the Hive Studios’ new simulcast facilities.
A packed house enjoyed last month’s very entertaining “Creggan Sport” showcase, featuring Tony O’Doherty and Charlie Nash with presenter Richie Kelly from BBC Radio Foyle.
Seating at the Hive Studios is limited, so prospective audience members are advised to arrive early on the night. The event will also be broadcast live on large TV screens on the Rath Mor mall.
Anyone who can’t make it to Rath Mor, can watch the event live online at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/creggan-showcases
