Over 2,000 people are expected to attend Ireland’s biggest ever kickboxing tournament taking placing in Derry tomorrow.
PT’s Kickboxing & K1 Gym are hosting the event in The Venue at Ebrington.
PT’s was formed in 1992 by former three-time world kickboxing champion, Paddy Toland from Carrigans, Co Donegal in 2005. Since then the club has had four world professional kickboxing champions, six European champions, two Commonwealth champions and seven Irish champions along the way.
Tomorrow’s will feature ISKA world professional champions, Derrymen “Pinta” Quigley, Aidan “Lights Out” Lafferty and female Donegal fighter, Natalie “The Blade’” McCarron along with current European amateur champion Damien “Dee” McGuinness and undefeated professional K1 fighter Vaidas Natkus.
Also competing will be Aaron “The Real Deal” McCarron, Damien “Kid Dynamite” Duddy, Jim Ramsey, Jay “Stingray” McVeigh, Brian Houston, Tomas Logue and Daryl White.
If successful, Derry man will have the opportunity to compete in the lucrative ‘K1 Glory’ tournament next year.
McCarron, the reigning women’s professional ISKA three-time World Kickboxing champion, is seeking her fourth world professional title on the bill.
If victorious, the Carrigans fighter will become the first ever kickboxer (male or female) in the history of the sport to hold four world professional titles at four different weights simultaneously.
