Derry’s annual Remembrance Sunday commemoration service will take place tomorrow morning.
Civic dignitaries, ex-servicemen and women will attend the event which will see wreaths laid at the cenotaph in The Diamond ahead of a two minutes silence at 11.00am.
Prior to the wreath-laying, members of the Derry and Waterside branches of the British Legion will march to The Diamond from Iona Terrace at 9.30am.
In Limavady, the first wreath will be laid at the town’s War Memorial at 10.30am by Harry Boyle, Deputy Lieutenant for Co. Derry.
Public representatives, youth groups and ex-service associations will then lay floral tributes.
Te final wreath laid will be on behalf of all the people of the borough.
Canon Sam McVeigh, padre to the British Legion in Northern Ireland, will lead a short inter-denominational service accompanied by Monsignor McCanny.
Music will be provided by Limavady Big Band Sound.
Following the service there will be a parade to Drumachose Parish Church led by the Trench Memorial Flute Band.
On the return route, the Deputy Lieutenant and the vice-president of the British Legion will take a salute outside the Council Offices on Connell Street.
