URGENT ACTION NEEDED TO PREVENT FLOODING – KELLY

Last night’s heavy rainfall caused flooding in a number of areas of Derry.

According to Sinn Fein Cllr Colly Kelly a number of streets in and around Creggan were affected.

He said: “I was contacted by residents in Eastway, Dunmore Gardens and Elmwood Terrace where a number of gullies became blocked with leaves and the water was right up on the pathways.”

Cllr concluded: “I will be in contact DRD Road Service to ensure that these hotspots for such flooding are looked at as a matter of urgency.”
