A seminar will be held in Derry today to discuss how the local community and voluntary sector can best avail of future European funding opportunities during the next period, 2014-2020.
Giving details of the event, Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper said the seminr would give Councillor Cooper said the seminar was “especially timely” given that many community groups in Derry were struggling at the minute as funding streams come to the end of their cycle.
He added: “I would very much encourage people to come along to the seminar hosted by Martina Anderson, MEP. It will give people the opportunity to discuss how our local community and voluntary sector can best avail of future EU funding opportunities during the next funding period 2014-2020.”
Cllr Cooper added: “It’s extremely important that local groups can access this information at first hand and to hear Martina outlining the processes involved in drawing down funding.”
He concluded: “The event is especially timely given that many community groups in Derry are struggling at the minute as funding streams come to the end of their cycle.”
The seminar is taking place in the Sinn Féin Centre, Ráth Mór, commencing at 10:30am sharp. Registration is from 10am and tea/coffee and scones will be served on arrival.
