Derry athlete Keith Shiels’ excellent year continued with another outstanding performance earlier today – this time at the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International held in Cardiff, Wales.
The Foyle Valley runner put in an impressive display to take the bronze medal in the veteran 35 category – but more impressively. finished seventh in the overall race that featured a top class field of international cross country athletes.
The Creggan man said he was “delighted” with his performance.
Shiels’ performances this year have seen him record victories in recorded victories in Felix 10k, Whitehead 5, Buncrana 5k, Fairhill 5 and the NIMAA Cross Country in which he cruised to victory last month.
The highlight of his performances was his victory in the Waterside Half Marathon.
