Ballinderry Shamrocks travel to the Athletic Grounds in Armagh this afternoon to take on Down champions Kilcoo in the AIB Ulster GAA Football Senior Club Championship semi-final (throw-in 2.30pm).
The Derry champions last won the Ulster club title in 2001 but were losing finalists in the 2006 and 2008 deciders.
And that is something Shamrocks boss Martin McKinless is determined to rectify this season.
He said: “We have been waiting far too long for an Ulster title. Sure, we have had good players but while we have managed to get our hands on Derry titles, the Ulster prize has eluded the club since 2001. That’s a long famine by Ballinderry standards”
Kilcoo earned their place in the last four as a result of defeating defending championships Crossmaglen Rangers in the quarter-final – albeit after extra time and a replay.
In the other semi, Donegal champions Glenswilly take on Roslea from Fermanagh at Healy Park in Omagh (throw-in 2.30pm).
