A Derry student has been awarded a highly prestigious Institute of Physics medal for the highest achievement in Northern Ireland in this year’s A Level Physics examination.
Daniel O’Reilly. from last year’s Year 14 class at Lumen Christi in Bishop Street, will be presented with his award at the annual Christmas Reception of the Institute of Physics in Dublin.
Daniel also achieved first place in A Level Biology.
Daniel was one of a number of Lumen Christi students who achieved top placings in this years A Level and GCSE examinations.
Others who came top in the A level exams were: Seamus Flynn (Biology), Helen Brady (History and Irish), Thomas McIvor and Tim McDaid (joint 1s ICT) and Aaron McIvor (Applied Business Studies).
Students who achieved top spots in GCSE were: Callum Canavan (Physics), Caitlin Quinn (Child Development) and Sean Herron (Geography).
