GREAT Britain claimed the honours of Race 4 in the Clipper Round the World Race crossing the line in Albany Waterfront Marina in Western Australia ahead of Henri Lloyd.
The Derry “LondonDerry” Derry is expected to cross the line on Thursday morning (Irish time).
The Derry clipper’s chances of featuring among leading finishers were scuppered when it had to divert to Port Elizabeth in South Africa to deliver an injured crew member to the local Coast Guard after the boat was thrown sideways by a large wave.
It is a situation skipper Sean McCarter has accepted with around 450 miles to go to the finish line.
