Eoin Bradley faces an uncertain future with the Derry county football team after deciding to continue playing soccer for Coleraine.
The 29-year-old had been told by county manager Brian McIver he could not play both codes.
However, Bradley has decided to continue turning out for the Bannsiders in the Danske Bank Irish Premiership until January or February at least.
That is a decision that almost certainly sees McIver rule him out being included in Derry’s McKenna Cup squad.
The McKenna Cup is used as a warm-up tournament during which county managers experiment with their squads ahead of the National League campaign which will see Derry take on Tyrone on 1 February.
Confirming he was staying at the Showgrounds, Bradley has said he would be discuss the situation with his family in the coming weeks before making a final decision.
He also said he was hopeful he would still be included in the League Cup squad.
Since joining Coleraine in September, Bradley has scored five goals in nine games playing from midfield for the Bannsiders who are in the bottom three of the league.
