Former Derry star Paddy Bradley has been sensationally announced as part of Kevin Cassidy’s backroom team at Donegal club Gaoth Dobhair for the 2014 season.
Bradley recently retired from inter-county football with Derry after a glittering career since making his debut in the 1999 campaign.
He was the marquee forward for Derry and was regarded by many as one of the best forwards in the country for the last decade.
His father Liam Bradley is manager of Antrim and it was expected that he would be using his son’s expertise to work with his forwards at Antrim who have struggled to turn possession into scores.
However, it has sensationally emerged that Bradley has agreed to be part of Cassidy’s backroom team at Gaoth Dobhair for the 2014 season.
It is an appointment that is sure to excite both the players and supporters of Gaoth Dobhair.
Cassidy was appointed as the senior manager following the club’s annual general meeting.
At 32, Cassisdy has plenty still to offer on the playing field and it was expected for him to name a strong backroom team.
However, nobody could have foreseen the appointment of the former Derry star and it’s a move that will inject excitement into club football in Donegal for the 2014 season.
