The phrase “Paddy McCourt doesn’t score goals – he scores wonder goals!” is once again on the lips of football fans following yet another sensational strike last night from the Derry man.
The former Derry City and Glasgow Celtic favourite scored his second goal for Barnsley – who he joined during the summer “transfer window” – in a shock 2-1 win over high-fllying Brighton in the Sky Bet Championship – and just like his first against Middlesbrough it has got everyone talking.
McCourt sent Barnsley on their way to their first away win in 16 games since 9 February when, on 35 minutes, he turned away from two Brighton defenders, skipped past a third then played a one-two with Tudgay before scoring past Tomasz Kuszczak.
