Derry’s Declan Mullan has become the first player to be issued a black card under Gaelic Football’s new rules.
Referee Brendan Rice from Down ordered the Coleraine to the sidelines in the 50th minute of his side’s clash with Louth in their O’Fiaich Cup encounter.
Under the new rules, Mullan was forced to leave the pitch for the remainder of the game.
Anthony O’Neill was Mullan’s replacement and came on to score a goal with his touch to send Derry on their way to 3-11 to 2-10 at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh.
