A man was treated in hospital after being assaulted in the Rosemount area of Derry at the weekend.
Police in the city have appealed for witnesses to come forward following the incident which occurred close to a bar in the Park Avenue area around 1.30am on Sunday last 8 December.
The victim sustained a dislocated elbow and cuts and bruises.
The culprit is described as a being of a slim muscular build, balding hair, in his mid 30’s and was wearing a red and black stripy t-shirt and blue jeans. He was also carrying a blue bag.
Police say a number of people were in the area and witnessed the assault.
The police spokesperson said: “Those persons or anyone with information about the incident are asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000.
“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
