Former Finn Harps coach Declan McIntyre looks set to join the backroom staff of new Derry City manager Roddy Collins.
McIntyre returned to Harps under the stewardship of Peter Hutton in August 2012.
He had previously been part of Charlie McKeever’s management set-up when the club reached the FAI cup final in 1999.
McIntyre worked closely with Hutton – now assistant to Collins at City – during his tenure as Harps manager and the pair formed a close relationship.
Former Finn Harps manager James Gallagher was the goalkeeping coach last season at Derry under Declan Devine and Paul Hegarty.
But it is believed he has now been relieved of his duties and McIntyre looks set to replace him.
McIntyre also worked with Sligo Rovers on a part-time basis last season and was expected to return there again this season.
However, it has now emerged that he has become a target for Collins and it is expected to be officially announced that he will become the new Derry City goalkeeping coach in the next few days.
Speculation is also growing regarding the future of current Finn Harps No.1 Ciaran Gallagher with speculation linking him to both Sligo Rovers and Derry City.
However, with Sligo Rovers recently re-signing Richard Brush it looks unlikely that he will move to the Showgrounds.
But it is believed that Derry are interested in Gallagher who has been capped at under-21 level with Ireland and has amassed over 100 games with Finn Harps.
Hutton was a big admirer of the Castlefinn shot-stopper and is believed to have advised Collins to recruit him ahead of the forthcoming 2104 season.
