A Derry primary school has alerted parents to a suspicious approach to one of its pupils.
Parents and guardians of children at St Anne’s Primary School at Upper Nassau Street in Rosemount have been informed by principal Jacinta Bradley that a child was approached by a man in a car on her way home from school on Thursday afternoon last.
In a text message, Mrs Bradley asked parents and guardians to remind their children to be vigilant.
Children attending school yesterday were also reminded “not to speak to strangers.”
One parent told Derry Daily how she told her young son to heed what his teacher had told him.
She said: “His teacher had a chat with him. He said she asked ‘what would he do if someone stopped him?’
“I told him there were bad men and women out there and never stop with strangers, ever! Just run away as fast as possible and go back into school or go to the ‘lollipop lady’.”
