The strong winds blowing across the North West is causing flight disruption at City of Derry Airport where all Ryanair flights in and out of the Eglinton airport have been affected.CITYOFDERRYAIRPORT

The Glasgow flight due in from Prestwick Airport at 10.15am was diverted to George Belfaat International Airport in Belfast with passengers being transferred by bus.

The 7.55am flight to Liverpool has been delayed until 1.00pm while the 8.25am flight to London Stansted flew out of George Best International with passengers being transferred by bus from Eglinton to Belfast.

The 10.15am and 10.40am flights to Glasgow Prestwick also flew out of Belfast.

Management at City of Derry Airport have apologised for the disruption which they say is due to the adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the strong winds – with gusts up to 80mph – are to continue throughout the day before easing this evening.

Tomorrow will see a dry and bright start with some sunshine before clouding over with rain in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
