A suspected armed robber got away with a sum of cash following a hold-up at a bookmakers in the Shantallow area of Derry last night.
A PSNI spokesperson said shortly before 9.30pm, it was reported a male carrying a suspected firearm, entered the premises and threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash.
The spokesperson said the robber was described as being in his 20’s, approximately 5’10” tall, of slim build and wearing a dark grey coloured hooded top, dark coloured track bottoms, gloves and a hat and scarf covering his face.
The police spokesperson said detectives want anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who had any information to contact them at Strand Road CID on 0845 600 8000.
