Pupils from a Derry school are to help BBC Northern Ireland Newsline viewers get in the festive spirit in the run up to Christmas.
In a tradition that started on the programme more than 10 years ago, pupils from schools will be be singing carols on BBC Newsline 6.40pm programme on BBC One Northern Ireland over three evenings in the run up to Christmas, starting this Thursday 19 December.
Pupils from Foyle VIew School in Derry will feature on the programme on Monday next 23 December.
Damien Magee, editor Television NEws, said the carol singing on the programme each Christmas had become a “real tradition” for BBC Newsline team and he hoped it would bring a “bit of festive cheer” to viewers.
He added: “It’s a real sign that Christmas is upon us.
“Once again, we would like to thank the schools for taking the time to help us out. We are looking forward to seeing them on the programme and we they enjoyed the experience.”
He concluded: “We would like to wish them and all our BBC Newsline viewers, a very happy christmas.”
The other two schools taking part are Newtownstewart Model Primary School and St Joseph’s Primary School in Strangford.
