Carol services are taking place throughout the Derry diocese this week.
Pupils and staff of Holy Cross College will take part in a service in Melmount Parish in Strabane at 2.15pm this afternoon ahead of the pupils from the Gael Scoil performing at 6.30pm tomorrow.
The annual Strabane Parish Carol Service will also take place tomorrow at 7.00pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception and, as has been the tradition, will feature pupils from Evish Primary School.
Staying in Strabane, the Marie Curie Community Carol Service with The North West Gospel Choir and St. Joseph’s Brass Band will take place on Thursday in the Alley Theatre at 8.00pm (tickets £6.00 each and can be purchased from The Alley Theatre Box Office.).
Also on Thursday, the Leckpatrick Parish Christmas Carol Service will be presented by the pupils of P5, P6 and P7 pupils of St. Mary’s Primary School, Cloughcor at 7.00pm in the Sacred Heart Church. Proceeds from the retiring collection will be donated to the local St. Vincent de Paul Conference.
In Drumragh Parish the Annual Carol Service will take place in the Sacred Heart Church this Sunday at 6.00pm.
The Holy Parish Carol Service will also take place on Sunday at 6.00pm with the church and school choirs taking part. Children are invited to bring gifts for the poor which will be distributed later by St. Vincent De Paul Society.
The Fahan Parish Carol Service taking place at 3.00pm this Sunday in Burt Presbyterian Church will be in aid of the Donegal Hospice. Tea and mince pies served afterwards in Church Hall.
