Hundreds of homes and businesses in the Strabane area are without power this St Stephen’s Night.
Areas affected include the Clady and Derry Road areas which have been in the dark since the electricity went off around 6.45pm.
Patrick Leonard, SDLP candidate in next year’s local government elections, said he had been in contact with Northern Ireland Electricity.
He said: “I have been in contact with NIE and they have assured me their engineers are working on the problem and hope to have power restored by 10.00pm tonight.”
