A 43 year old man arrested yesterday by police investigating the armed robbery of a bookmaker office in Derry in which two shots were fired has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The man was arrested yesterday afternoon and at the time police said he was helping them with their into their enquiries into the raid on the Ladrokes betting office on St Francis Terrace in the Collon area of Pennyburn 16 December.
The robbery was one of five hold-ups at Ladbrokes offices during a 13 day period.
Police said they are not linking the raids “at this stage.”
Guns, knives and a hammer were used by raiders at other offices in the Shantallow, Creggan, Elmwood Street and Lecky Road areas.
No one was injured in any of the incidents but staff are believed to have been badly shaken.
Ladbrokes have offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to a conviction of anyone involved in the raids.
