Firmus Gas is to install a gas supply to homes in Inishowen Gardens in the Creggan area of Derry.
The news has been welcomed by local Sinn Fein Councillor Kevin Campbell.
He said: “This is welcome news for residents that Firmus Gas is to install a link to the mains gas supply from the area at Greenwalk along Inishowen Gardens to Broadway.”
Cllr Campbell added: “It is hoped the work will start in February 2014 and finish in March. It will offer residents an opportunity to have a choice of energy supply.”
