The people of Derry have been praised for the generosity shown to the city’s homeless over the Christmas period.
Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has urged for continued support to various charities working with the homeless in the city.
She said: “I would like to thank the generosity of the people of the city and all the groups and businesses who have helped with the collection and the local media who highlighted the appeal.
“If it wasn’t for the valuable services of these charities the picture in this city might be very different.”
Ms Anderson concluded: “I would urge people in Derry to continue to support the various charities working very hard to help the homeless all year round and particularly at holidays times likes Christmas and the New Year period.”
