The stormy weather affecting Derry is set to continue into the night.
The windy conditions have resulted in the Foyle Bridge in the city being closed in both directions to high-sided vehicles with a 30mph limit on all other vehicles.
Although the Met Office “yellow alert” issued for the city remains in place, the city appears to be missing out on the worst of the heavy rain.
In Coleraine, the River Bann has burst its banks and flooded parts of the town centre, while in Belfast, people living in low lying areas along the River Lagan have been urged by the PSNI to take precautions ahead of a predicted tidal surge.
Looking ahead, the blustery showers are forecast to continue into the evening and early night before dying out by morning. Temperatures are expected to drop to 0°C.
After a bright start with some sunshine and a few shows, tomorrow will see a risk of heavy sleet or snow later with a maximum temperature of 6°C.
Rain and gales are forecast to return on Sunday, clearing to scattered blustery showers by evening ahead of Blustery showers on Monday, with gales continuing.
Fewer showers are forecast for Tuesday as winds ease.
