A shot was fired at a house in Maghera in Co Derry last night.
The short was fired through the kitchen window of a house in Drumlane Road shorty after 11.00pm.
An man, two women and two children, who were in the house at the time, were not injured but left shaken by the incident.
A PSNI spokesperson said a motive for the shooting had not been established.
The spokesperson said police were appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone in the area of Drumlane Road around the time of the shooting to contact detectives at Magherafelt Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
